A: We use Neyra brand "Tarconite" sealer, a water based coal tar emulsion with
"Armor Flex" epoxy fortifier and 000 graded sand additions for durability and traction.
Q: When can you seal asphalt?
A: Sealer should be applied with temperatures above 40 degrees
over night. Our sealcoat season is generally between mid to late
March to November, weather permitting.
Q: How often should I seal my asphalt?
A: Conditions vary greatly, in a hot dry climate sealer
can last over 10 years, the mid Atlantic region see's varying
conditions including below freezing temperatures and heavy snow,
which can lead to plow wear, shovel scraping, ice picking etc.
We recommend sealing asphalt every 2-3 years because of this.
Q: Does the sealer fill cracks?
A: No, sealer is applied to seal the pores in the asphalt to
prevent water penetration and losing stone. Crack fill is a
separate process and is applied only in certain conditions.
Q: How long do i need to stay off the asphalt?
A: We recommend waiting at least 24 hours to
walk on and 48 hours to drive on the asphalt.
